The alarmist bloc of the inept education industry calls reading remediation an ‘intervention’, as if levelling up is a five-alarm fire. They use terms like ‘decoding’, as if literacy is secretive and arcane, as if it's the Enigma Machine and they're Alan Turing.
If illiteracy is a fire, the best extinguisher is the gentle attention of a parent who loves her kid. Unfortunately not enough American parents love their children sufficiently to share the ability to read and write. So it's up to kids to acquire literacy on their own, which they're perfectly capable of doing inside the Overhead in Bed experience, far from their insecure and unaffectionate environment.
